Hi and pleased to me you!  My name is Skye.

I’m a 29 year old Korean born and Australia raised web developer and the owner of this little space in the world wide web. I’ve worked in the world of “web” since the year 2000, about one year after I started my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and the University of Technology, Sydney.

While I was dabbling around in the world of personal websites, I got a lucky break three years into my degree, when I was offered a role as developer for a Shopfront project. It opened up a whole new world for me. Determined to work as a website designer/developer, I got a job as a junior systems developer at my university. This gave me a fantastic grounding in formal programming and rapid development, and gave me the strong footing to move onto a more challenging role, with a web development company called Tenstream.

In 2010 I completed a five year “stint” working for a leading Human Resources organisation in their content development team. There I was a team leader and senior developer,  as well as a project manager (yes, I am PMI certified as a CAPM).

In the past few years my husband and I have moved from Sydney, to Manila, Kuala Lumpur to Manila. During this time, I completed a postgraduate commerce degree at  Swinburne University (via Open Universities), and was confirmed to graduate with a Graduate Diploma of Commerce, started working for a leading enterprise software company as a regional manager, we had our first child, and we were reunited with our two bundles of furry joy – Karamello and Holly Berry.

As a mother… I’m 50% crunchy. Yes, we use cloth diapers, yes, we are into baby led weaning, yes, I’m a baby wearing addict, but please give me my many conveniences. Such as my store bought detergent, disposable baby wipes, and prepackaged foods.

As a professional… I’m a quiet achiever, who lets people talk until they’ve painted themselves into a corner. I’m a fair manager, and I am always proud when I can see my team members soar in their careers.

As a blogger… I sometimes run off at the mouth. I try to limit the verbal diarrhea. I really do.

As a family person… Mess with my family, I will mess with you.

eeejay.net is a place for me to showcase the work that I’ve done, either for fun, as a freelance, or in the course of my full-time job. It’s a place where I can share my experiences, and a place where I can ask for help. It’s my personal diary (with a little “at my discretion” editing) and my vanity wall.

I hope that as with my previous websites I will be able to look back on the work displayed here and see how much I have grown as a designer and a website developer.
